Me and my partner in crime just got mpc500 (we're poor so it was only reasonable solution for us)..
And YES there is some serious and annoying bugs:
First when we put 128MB card in internal slot we had problems all the time in saving and playback, and the whole OS (V1.13) slowed down.
We use mpc on sampling and playback for the drums. All other sounds are coming from external synths via midi (midi notes are recorded on mpc's tracks).
First it started to fall down with message on the screen, something like:
PC Addr. (read) CPU (00000290)..
It happened few times so we tried to format the cards entirely again (internal and external 1GB CFcard).. After couple of times of recording one part, saving, mpc falling down, booting, loading all the stuff back, re-recording, saving, mpc falling down etc. We ejected the internal 128MB card and started to work only with 16Mb internal memory.. First it was ok but then it started to just TILT, with no messages on the screen.. And in the step edit it was impossible to move events.
Then we changed places of devices in the midi chain (we use VirusKB, MS2000, KORG EA, NOWA drumstation) and now we have made music for two days without any serious issues, but us, two stupid apes. Just waiting when our mpc tilts again..
