i was recently on the road and a homie of mines had his mpc 1000 i was attempting to make beats on it but found it hella annoying becacuse of two things... perhaps you can clear a couple thngs up for me, because it does seem like a quality machine...#1. samples only seem to play in NOTE OFF while you're in trim mode.....meaning that when im in trim trying to cut my sounds up I have to keep my finger on the pad to hear the sample...Im aware of the top 4 pads and what they are about but none of them play the sample in mono mode. like on the 2000 or the xl.....#2. it has to be a way that i can edit the data wheel to move a lil faster that it does now....im aware of the sliders and what they do as far as moving through a sample but you can only get so precise with that slider....using the data wheel is key...and if I gotta spin that thing like A mad man it makes editing sounds a pain.....and my bonus complaint is why did they have to mess with the paramaters.......each sound should have....poly....mono.....note off....instead i gotta go to another window to put a sound on note off......thats booty!.....guess thats why Im never gonna get rid of my xl......!

you can hold down shift while spinning the data wheel to make it jump in much larger blocks. as far as having to hold down the pad while trimming, that one kinda bugs me a lil bit too... but i usually don't take long to trim anyway.
