Problem with the syncing the MPC to cubase

first off ive searched this forum for an hour lol and i couldn't find the answer to my question, so i apologies if it has been asked before..

I'm trying to separately track the beat i made in the mpc on to cubase...I noticed an issues... The problem is syncing the MPC via midi is that it never seems to sync exactly to the millisecond.
e.g

Record the same track (kick track for example) twice on two different tracks. Then press play you'll hear the two kicks airplane. If you zoom in you'll see that they're quite a bit off from each other.

I mean the off timing isn't that noticeable but if you have a lot of layered kicks it becomes more of a problem.


is this a common problem or just me? lol

What I have been doing that seems to fix this is, let the track your trying to record to play for 4 bars so it has time to sync up. Try to set up record points on cubase to start at 4 bars into it, or 8 bars, or whatever. You know what I mean?

yeah i think thats my best bet...i now just have to figure out how to set record points on cubase ..

tried to do the same myself a few months back with no luck - maybe the new os helps out ,
anyway if you come up with something better be sure to post back buddy..

Why not just duplicate the track in cubase? Or set it up to record two tracks of the same chanel to begin with? That way you're not leaving anything up to chance, and it's quicker.

As good as midi is, you'll have a hard time getting it to sync perfectly everytime.
