advanced pad mutes

so i was playing around on the old mpc and i figured out something new...you can have 1 pad mute up to 6 pads on the 2000 and 2000xl. its rather simple to do. goto shift+program, assign a sample to 3 pads turn two of pads volume down all the way, set them all to mono in the params. set your main pad to mode: simult in the assign screen, and tell it to play the other 2 pads you setup earlier. set your pad mutes for all the 6 pads you want muted.. thats it. i hope i didn't confuse the hell out of anyone. if you need any help let me know.

Ok, but what's the point of doing it ?
I read this post twice and can't find if it is useful in any way.

the point would be you can mute 6 sounds with 1 pad. how you would use it is up to you.

Would be great for live use.
