OS question

i just bought a used 1000 off ebay and wanted to know how to load up the OS, is it already installed on the machine or does it come on a CF card

i used to use the 2000 and used the floppy disk wit the OS on it 2 start it up
and wanted 2 see if it was the same thing wit the 1000

hopefully i explained this good enough

Yo Ill Bill what up?...The OS is on the machine when you turn it on. Nothing to load... just turn the 1000 on and you are good to go.

that is not entirely true...... It should come with the OS already loaded, butt there is no guarantee that it is a current version of either OS......

Hopefully it is.... If not you will need to download the current OS from Akai (ver 2.11) to your CPU or Mac..... Then upload it to the MPC..... If you decide to go with the JJOS you will need to download it from sites listed in the UNofficial JJOS section.... There s a free version with some improvements over the Akai OS, but there is also JJOS 4.xx at a cost of $30 for OS1 and another for OS2.... BUt I hear that OS 1 is all you will want..... I am only 30 days into this and I am only running JJOS 3.06 (Free)....


Hopefully all of this was done by the previous owner......
