upgrade zip drive/file transfering/loading on mpc2000xl

I've been happily married to my 2000xl for about 6 years using an external scsi zip drive. I'm about to get a laptop and want to transfer sounds between my mpc and computer. Also my zip drives and discs are on a slippery slope getting more cranky and faulty by the day. Whats the best way/options to upgrade my mpc so i can use maybe usb or firewire technology? any suggestions appreciated.

Nope...whats MCD? Is it another kind of MPC? i dont want to get a new machine...I'm still very happily married

MCD= Multi Card Drive the link I gave you. I am expecting one tomorrow from VST.

Akai sells the 2000XL with the MCD drive as stock for quite a while already. So yes, we have to assume that it works.

i have a mcd drive it works good.

Nice one! I'm glad to hear it. Did you have to upgrade you MPC's OS? If so how did you do that?
