Reviews and questions about the entry-level MPC500

I am randomly losing programs and sequences! When trying to load certain programs or sequences, I get the "CPU addr......" message and end up having to turn the machine off and back on. I have also had the time signatures on some of my patterns change unexpectedly. This is a great little machine, but there are a lot of bugs, it seems. Just when I had the polyphony problem figured out, too! It really sucks to lose all of your sequence data after working on a beat for 3 days. I had to re-do the whole thing from memory and it's never quite the same. And now I may have just lost more data?!?! Help! What does the message mean?

Extremely common bug I'm afraid. Does it with mine when I load projects that I've backed up previously. Only solution for me is to keep everything on card.

Peace

Is this common when loading material previously saved onto pc and then recopied across? I have yet to do this but was planning to. I have a 2 gig cf card so this will keep me going for a while if I can't back up but still a pain.

Is it programs or sequences or samples or all three that affect it?

Re: your polyphony issue, how did you resolve this? I suffer from samples cutting out from time to time, often when nowhere near at the polyphony limit (and not using effects either).
