Can't hear sample sounds when Program installed

Hi, I have been able to hear drum sounds when I have installed programs before, e.g the Drum program in the MPC 2500 e-book example folder, but now when I load Programs (with relevant samples assigned to pads) I can't hear anything. When I loaded the Beat sequence from the same e-book, it appears that sounds are being triggered but I can't hear them. If I load up individual samples, I can hear them at preview stage but not when I bring them into a program (hitting the assigned pad produces no sound). Does anybody have any suggestions please? I have checked that the track isn't muted etc. i suspect that it is something relatively straightforward that I'm missing.

Try a factory reset, hold the Erase button while powering up the MPC.

well i have the jj os, and im sure pilgrim does too< but no one
helps over there?

Thanks guys, I don't have the JJ OS so the factory reset worked fine for me. Now, can anybody tell me please how to save the pad settings within my programs please? I know this is off topic but when I load up my saved Programs, I have to manually re-assign the various samples to their respective pads so I hope there's a way around this.

Oh yes, there is. Just save the Program With Samples.

A journey through the manual might teach you other useful gimmicks as well. Believe me
