MPC 60 For Sale

After spending almost a year on the MPC 60 I've ended up moving onto using Ableton Live with an S950 and a trigger finger. A better and more intuitive workflow for me personally, but I love this machine and hate to see it go.

This 60 is in great shape and works flawlessly, and has all the bells and whistles you want:

- the OS is upgraded to the latest 3.10, which basically adds all the software features of the 3000. This upgrade costs $195.
- the SCSI upgrade has been installed which allows you to use zip drives, hard drives, or even compact flash drives if you can find one. Saves tons of time and flipping through floppies. This upgrade costs $300.
- The RAM is maxed out for a full 27 seconds of sampling time. Take that SP-1200!
- The backlight is only a year old and is a replacement from VST.
- Some people like the appearance of the MK1 more, but the MK2 (this model) has a headphone out which is more useful than you might think when you're working but don't want to mess with other gear.

PLUS, I'm including a compatible SCSI hard drive, already formatted, with a cable, AND a printed and bound manual for the 3.10 OS. Visually the MPC is very clean with the only slight wear on the data knob.

There are some real beater 60s popping up on eBay these days that you should not be messing with, from some real suspect sellers. I'm asking $900 INCLUDING insured shipping within the US (international dudes we'll have to talk about shipping costs and insurance). This is a very fair price and not negotiable unless you've got some real dope records to trade.

It's $900 including shipping and a hard drive. I saw one with the output boost go for $1100 on a buy-it-now and that wasn't including shipping. This is a fair price.

I don't think it's a bad deal. I'm seeing fewer and fewer 60s on Ebay, and it's hard to find one that is completly maxed out. OS, RAM, and SCSI upgrades come to about $600 if you have to buy them yourself. The SCSI itself it $300 and I haven't seen one w/ it on ebay for awhile. Plus, like he said, he's throwing in shipping and a Zip drive (another $60 at least).
I paid $650 for my 60 w/ SCSI, 3.1, and (supposed) memory exp and then had to replace the data encoder knob, uninstall the memory hack and buy a legit exp board, and I am going to replace the backlight soon. I've done all of this work myself and when all's said and done, I'll have spent around $850 total.
Maybe you'd be better off selling it for $850 and charging $40-50 for shipping if it doesn't sell. You'll give the illusion that it's cheaper.

ive spent about 1200 on my 60. i wish i wouldnt have made the mistake of buying one that was super clean on the outside but needed work on the inside.
