is the mpc 500 multi tambural?

how would i go about assigning different pads to different (timbres)?

i dotn know if that was worded right, but i wanted to use my mc 500 with logic, but whenever i make a beat on it and i go to automate it, like with volume automation, i take down my melody to like 67 or something and then everything else also goes down to 67.

its not like this when i use the yamaha s90 keyboard with logic, ie.

ill have a bass on track one trumpet on track 2 and piano on track 3. and i set up all this on the s90 and when i automate my trumpet or something, like i take down the volume, only the trumpet track goes down, it doesnt affect my piano or bass.

im tring to do this with my mpc.

Just lay your different instruments/sounds whatever down on different tracks in your sequences in your MPC. Its no different than what it sounds like your doing with the Yamaha.

im using logic as the sequencer though so that wouldent work.
