Sound Volume Decrease

i noticed when i play sounds from vsti's on my mpc pads they sound nice and big... Then i record in these sounds and it seems the volume of the sound (e.g bass from trilogy) has decreased considerably....i turned up the record volume but that made me have to lower the main volume because the sounds were far to loud when playing on the pads... plus the feed back i got nearly blew my ears off.... is the down-grade in the sound volume something to do with the mpcs converter's?

am i doing something wrong here? forgive me i'm a mpc newbie

when i'm tracking out i don't seem to have this problem.. what i'm hearing through the mpc is exactly what is recorded into cubase...

I don't really get what you are doing or what the issue is. But you can set the Master Output level of the MPC in Other mode. It usually is at a value below 0 dB, meaning if you resample for example it comes out lower than before. Try setting it to 0 dB.

sorry i should have explained myself better...

basically i have my mpc midi -synced with my workstation so i am able to play VST instruments and also for tracking purposes... When i record the vst instruments, the sounds seem to be resampled at a lower volume. Completely different from what i'm hearing prior to listening on recording playback..

I changed the master volume, but that made no difference, except for making everything louder (in a bad muddy way) and distorted.. I then had to put down the main gain and the record in level.... which takes me back to where i started

Put it this way, when i record in a "kickdrum" sound, it loses all it's volume and thump. I dont understand what i'm doing wrong..when it comes to tracking everything is excellent sound wise.. it's only when i record sounds into the mpc, thats where i'm having issues...

Well can you not eq it the way you want once its recorded?
I have found that kix may not sound the exact same once eveything is added because if you have all the stuff seperated it may not all be the same levels as it was in the MP. you mave adjusted a knob or somthing that set one thing to be diff than the next.
EQ in your mixing program is my idea.
And possibly normalizing as well, but thats weird if its a vast difference.
