1. yes, between 2k and 3k it is, 2k is the weekest sounding MPC, you can find it easily especially in high freq, when 2k got harsh/overdrive sound, but it's not so big...check MPC comparison on that forum

3. because - a. a hype;), b. because is much better built than any other one, c. because it's ROGER LINN design, d. because sequencer, e. because workflow, f. because standard 10 outs, SCSI, g. because looks great and you will love it:).....so many because.......because Dilla, DRE, and many more biggest name in business:)

5. they are very rare here and costs between 800-1200£....check SOS website and ebay, you can buy one in US, but you risk a lot.....plus bl@@@dy VAT, shipment, and Custom....plus power adapter...at the end of the day - it's exactly same price, plus you never know what you buyin' mate.....
