Okay, so heres the deal. I attempted to install a card reader into my xl (I later found out the card reader was not compatible). Anyways, prior to attempting the install I had never had to load an os when booting up the mp, 1.14 automatically loaded when I powered it up. Now, for some reason, everytime I power the 2kxl up, I have to load an os.

Is this reversible??? Did I do damage to some of the circuitry or something?? If anyone has experienced this let me know.

Thanks in advance

On what drive you are now ? Floppy, zip ? Other words - from what drive you have to load the OS over and over each time?
Bear in mind that 1.20 OS is only for card readers.

Maybe you have it on autoload and everytime you power it up it just loads the OS from the root directory?

I have the original floppy.

The only autoload feature in the xl is for auto loading file types .aps, .all, both or off. There is no option to autoload an os. Although it autoloads the os when I insert the floppy, if thats what you mean.......

Also, Ive used 1.20 for a while now with absolutely no issues, so I dont think that 1.20 is ONLY compatible with the card reader. It was just released when the MCD xl came out, so it was labelled "FOR CARD READERS."....correct me if Im wrong.

All I want is to power up my MP and not have to load an OS from floppy disk.
