Snare flutter/roll technique

If you have time you could take a look at this video its excatily what my topic is on and what i am having trouble with. I have an MPC 1k and am trying to figure out how this technique is created if anyone can help me figure it out that would be great thanks. BTW yea i probably could just sample it but that would be cheating

which technique are u talking about??
that drumloop comes with that drum roll....they didn't create/produce it with the MPC....

actually sampling it isnt cheating, theres just not enough resolution or speed to do it in real time (it be real hard to be consistant). so youd WANT to sample it.

to make one, get the bpm real low, hit the snare like 3 times in a nice lil pattern and speed it up. then once u get it how u like it sample the main out and save the roll as a sample. voila.

In the manual uncle roger told us to mess around with the effect fader as well as the repeat note while varying the velocity on ur pad.. it can do pretty decent rolls ahaha... the real struggle with beatmaking is about making something that sounds GOOD which is kindof else then something that sounds Realistic...

But yeah i do it that way

i have my mpc midi in with battery and use the modulation effects in battery such as flam and adjust the diffrent options till i get the sounds i want. If you dont have it battery is easy worth the 120 bucks you can get it for now man.

Nice, or u could run ur sounds through some processing device.. like a DAW...
