mpc60 classic?

Ok, so i used to have the MKII but i had to sell it after about 2 weeks cause i couldnt afford it any more but what are the main differences between the MKII and the classic? I think the classic looks better anyway And what is the standard amount you'd usually for one?

MKII had a headphone jack and a molded screen and some late model 60II's had expanded memory and the marion scsi already in them from the factory.

so classic has no scsi? Whats the standard sampling time? I found its not as expensive as an sp but it has more sampling time. sp is more hype i guess

With no memory upgrade its about 13 seconds, with upgrade its 26.2 seconds. Obviously you'll be buying second hand so its down to previous owner(s) what upgrades they installed if any:

RAM can be upgraded
OS can be upgraded to V3.10 by installing new ROM chips
SCSI can be added if it doesn't have it

from memory you need OS 3.1 to use SCSI

I've paid £350 for a mk2 with no upgrades that was pretty good nick about 3-4 years ago.

I wouldn't pay no more than £400 for an unexpanded mk1 or mk2. The yanks seem to get a bit more twisted over the mk1 and 2 and they tend to prefer the mk1. I don't believe thats really the case over here so prices between mk1 and 2s are pretty similar

Please note the upgrades are expensive. To get my MPC above fully kitted cost almost the same as the MPC! Most of them do usually have at least 1 of the upgrades though and you'll surely be saving money if they are preinstalled rather than buying seperately

The mk.1 advertised above seems a good bet if it genuinely is mint. I paid £500 for one with the same upgrades about 18 months ago

Don't think you'll be able to plug your headphones into the main outs of a Mk.1 to get round the lack of headphone output. It works but its still too quiet even with the Stereo Mix Volume on max

But why have you got rid of a mk. 2 and on the look out for a mk.1? I presume you had the Mk.2 ages ago?

ye, was a very long time ago only for about 2 weeks.
I had to sell it as i was broke!
If i get it over from the states, do you know howmuch i would have to pay in tax/vat? And P+P will prob come to a hurrendous amount no?

Its a hassle to get gear from the states. I wouldn't like to say how much costs would be but I've found out you can appeal your customs charges if they get you. I don't think you have to pay it on second hand goods but that won't stop them doing it.

after all that potential expense and risk you won't probably won't have saved anything
