what is the best way to record from an mpc 2000?... is a usb interface or a multitrack recorder better?

Either one will work. Its just a matter of preference. I actually have a Emu 0404 soundcard that im trying to get rid of. In top notch quality even comes with Cubase LE(recording),Proteus LE(can use as a soundmodule-has all the Proteus 2000 sounds), and some other software. I got the manuals and everything that came with it originally. Let me know if you are interested.

Mutlitrack with digital standalone system is easier and with excellent sound quality.
Some peeps have done full mass released albums on anolog tape 4, 8, 16 track recorders. However, the later not being the easiest but cheapest route.
USB route not the easiest but sound qaulity is what you make of it. Portable yes or maybe. Cheap? Maybe not so much expect to pay at least $200 or more on the basics. Lastly, just know everything is going this way. Ask Will I AM (BlackEyedPeas) This dude goes digital all the way nuthing but protools and the works, simply because he can record anywhere anytime.
I record with a standalone multitrack because it the fastest medium FOR ME. Mix to PC thru USB.
