Error Message: Wrong WAV. File Format?

"Wrong WAV. File Format"

I got this message on the load screen when loading up a prg file. The sounds saved as wav. files won't load. The progams I have using snd. files will load just fine.

The weird thing is, is that I have lots of older progams using wav. files and they won't load now either. They used to load fine, now suddenly they're in the "Wrong wav. File Format"? Is there some setting in the MPC2000xl where you can change the type of wav. file format? I'm lost.

Can anyone explain this. I didn't see it in the manual anywhere. And I don't want to lose all my work that uses wav. files. Thanks.

maybe its 24 or 32bit wav file. I use db power cnverter to batch convert samples. you should tyr this app.

p.s it mus be WAV 16bit 44.1khz or lower to work with the mpc.

Yeah i used to have that db power converter software. I will check that out. But the thing is, I have the files on zip disk and I have no way to load them onto my computer.

Plus, the wav files are my own samples, that I chopped and saved with the mpc, so it seems weird to me that it could save the files but not read them.

And my older progs using wav. files won't load now either. They used to load fine. And I did't go back and resave the sounds in a different format or anything. I think somethings up.

I'm going to create a new progam with new samples saved as wave files and see if the mpc will be able to reload them back in after I save them and shut it off.

hmm maybe they are corrupt, All hail th Zip disk, the king of unreliablility.

what does that mean? Does it make sense that my snd. files still work? Is there anything I can do about it? Am I going to lose all my prgs using wav files?!

its not that. make the folder on the mpc. then load your files into it from the pc. i remember having this problem back when my friend bought his 1000 and i was loadind his sound set onto my hd. you cant view a folder created by windows.
as far as the .pgm files i cant help you there. maybe somewhere along the line the pgm files were damaged in transfer. and now they really are corrupt.
