Reviews and questions about the entry-level MPC500

hi all!

first i have to say sorry, because my english is not the best....

last week i bought a mpc and i really like it but still i have some problems with loading/saving data (sequences, programs, *.all-files) on the cf card!

sometimes when i try to save or load data on/from the cf card, a "system error" message is displayed and the only thing i can do is switch off the mpc and switch it on again.
but the data is somehow destroyed, i can try to load it again but its always the same error.

when connecting the mpc to my pc via usb and trying to erase these files, my OS tells me that these files are destroyed or the directory doesnt exist

is there anything special i have to do after saving my data / before switching off the mpc ???!!

or could it be some compability problems with my cf card? (of course i formatted it before using it ..)

in addition one more question: when i bought the mpc 500 there was no usb-cable in the package - now i use the one of my master keyboard - so should there a cable be delivered with the mpc 500 or not?

thanks for help!

Do you have the latest OS installed? See Akai's site.
No USB cable is included so no worries.

i have the same problem. an "system error"-message. i have the OS 1.13 so i´m afraid that updating the OS will not help. :(

Did the update resolve the problem?
Does the problem occur when you save programs/samples or just when you save ALL Sequences and Songs?
If yes and you´re sad about loosing your last songs, try to load single sequences from the ALL file. this seems to work.
