Post your views and questions about the Akai MPC2500

basically just lookin for a yes or no. but can i hook up an external USB floppy drive to a 2500 and move my seq that i saved onto floppy disks on my 2000xl into my 2500? or is there another way i can move them to a 2500?

If you have a PC with a floppy drive just hook up the MPC to your computer
and goto page 112 of your manual and follow the directions and you should be all good!

how would u go about transfering you beats on zip disk from ur old xl to the 2500?i dont a pc.i have mac?need to know cus planin to switch from XL to 2500,

buy a usb zip drive and a card reader for your computer and drag and drop.

i dont have a 2500 yet. i bought one on ebay and the guy backed out so i had one on the way when i posted that but now....no :( . i couldnt just hook up a usb floppy drive to the 2500 and transfer the beats i got on my floppy disks from my 2000xl to my 2500?

Yeah, You should be able to do that, Also I would not buy a used MPC off of EBAY, because you dont know who had it, and how they treated it, goto one of the reputable online dealers GC, MF, AMS, SAM @$# etc. and get one thru them, alot of them also have a year SAME AS CASH! The only thing that beats the smell of a new car, Is a BRAND SPANKIN NEW MPC! GONE!

No, once again, you cannot hook USB drives to the 2500's USB port! It is not a host port like on the 4000, it just makes the 2500 a removable drive to the PC like a USB stick.

ive seen some refurbished (same as new...smell wise haa) go for as cheap as $950 w 90 day warranty. i wouldnt go thru a website cause they run for $2000....damnn
