Hi everybody

I'm a newbie so my questions may sound silly, but here goes.

I've been working in Ableton Live for the past few years and I love it a lot because my tracks are full of little loop edits. I dont make hip hop but house with hip hop influences; think of switch, sinden, diplo, herve, etc.

Now I recently turned to MPC because I wanted to have that live feel in my patterns; cutting up samples and stabbing rhythms by hand instead of drawing them. In the past few days I've gotten my mpc1000 I gave it a try and totally addicted. Way more feel to it.

The question is. How can i fully intergrate Ableton Live (or Pro Tools) with my mpc? In the sense that can use all the synths installed in Live or Pro Tools .. sequence it with the mpc or sync it with my mpc .. as long as in the end I have all tracks.. the synths AND the mpc tracks IN a DAW to mixdown. Without having to first import the mpc tracks into a DAW and then build up the synths etc.

Live and rhe 1k are a perfect combination.

Set them up to run in sync (i use the mpc as master, sending a midi clock to live)

Send out midi notes to play live´s instruments.

Either record single patterns from the mpc and arrange in Live or change the sync mode to mtc and do it on the mpc.

Whats your question exactly?

now that i've synced them.. how can i get the mpc out (all the tracks together are fine) into live again, while live is syncing with my mpc.. and then mix the live synth tracks with the mpc track?

and ps: with what cable to i sync my macbook?

Just connect the mpc´s audio output to your interface... you can either track out track by track or parallel on different outs if you have an interface with enough inputs. Best would be the digital connection.

Or do you need a howto for Live?

that would actually be pretty cool if you had one.
just to make sure i'm doing it all correctly.

Just open some audio tracks, set the input and switch monitor to "in", that input should now play through live and you can record right there to the audio track.
