Pads stuttering,, is it normal??

I think the stuttering of the pads is getting worse,,, sometimes its so bad that i just cant work with it, and have to restart. Do other poeple have this problem????

Every once in a while I double trigger the pads, but I find if they're doing that it's because they are not being hit right. You have to hit em dead centre and quick. You have to make sure as soon as you make conctact and hit it to jerk your arm back off it quick, or else it does that.

But I'm actually finding I'm double triggering a lot less on the 4k than the 1k though. And I find I double trigger more when I'm tired. When I'm double triggering a lot...that's when I know it's about time to end the session.

naah its not my technique ive some experienced mpc users play with that thang, and the same thing happened.

I dunno man! This is a shot in the dark, but have you tried messing with the pad sensitivity settings. I don't think that will necessarily fix it, but it's worth a try.

Another shot in the dark. I had my MP temporarily on a flimsy TV dinner tray with thick-pile carpet on the floor. It was sturdy enough to hold the mp but everytime I struck a pad the whole thing would move causing an inacurate strike and stutter. Moving the unit to a strudy surface fixed the prob.

just adjust the pad sensitivity to ur pad strike and that will go away it seems ur pads are to sensitive

2nd on breaking in.

my bass kick pad changed it's whole attitude after a month or so, don't need to hit it in the middle or nothing like that : rub the corners like you had a shaker in you hand and it comes out.

How do you do that?

There's a screen to adjust AVERAGE PAD TAP, it's automatically set at 2 on the mpc2000, on the 4k it should be similar, probably in the screen foR OTHER

Hit Pad Assign on the left of the pads, F2 I think and its right there

Yeah, I know that.. But that's only 100 to 200 procent.

And I ment something else.. I asked it wrong! Some programs (wich I load from pc) react more and less to velocity sensitivity.. How do change that?

It has to be possible to let the intern samples/programs react to very minor velocity, 'cause external sources (sampler/synth) react to less velocity than the inrenal samples in the MPC4000. I hope I make any sence here
