anyone ever have these CF card problems?

i got a 1GB PNY card and all of a sudden i can't read the data on it

it shows up as not formatted

did i lose all these great beats?

Be sure to thank them for their busted format routine.

Try surfing up some disk recovery software. Not much else you can do.

After that, get the JJ OS and reformat everything.

no, i got the JJ os newest upgrade

i got a mac with a usb card reader hooked up

it's always been working fine

when i ejected the card from the mpc and put it into the card reader, my comp couldn't read the card and i wondered why since it always works fine

so i put it into the mpc and it's blank

so from some point between the mpc and the computer it messed up

what can cause this?

power surge from the usb card reader attached to the comp or sumthin?

but did you ever format the card SINCE you installed JJ? Because if the card was formatted with akai OS, the akai bug will still effect the card even if you are running JJ. You need to format the card AFTER installing JJ.

i didn't, and been using the card for a month with no problems

and what is the akai bug?

and is my data lost?

Like I said, bad format routine. Can cause immediate but more often gradual data corruption. Won't be obvious until the thing dies. The bug was fixed in the JJ, but if you don't use JJ to format... well, obviously...

Don't know. Only a good disk recovery program can tell you for sure.
