Hi there,
I'm looking to delete programs and sounds of the internal memory on my MPC1000 ie the default sounds. Also, is it possible to add perhaps my own samples to the internal memory so I don't have to access my memory card to load my own drum samples.

Any ideas?

Thanks ;-)

the answer is no you can't replace the files in the internal memory. you can set files to auto-load on startup, but that's not what you're asking for.

You can replace them. Just switch to "internal" from the drive selection in save mode.

hmmm... so i can't delete them... but i can replace them... does that mean i have to save my files with the same names as the files in internal mem to replace them or what?

One or two of the ten billion threads in the archive that ask this question lays out the correct procedure. If my memory is correct, the way to do it is to save a PROGRAM with samples to internal. I think it is also possible to wipe it out by simply saving a blank PROGRAM with no samples.

Just one thing: Doing this may cause a problem with JJ OS 2. I'm not really sure about that one... the JJ site has a few things to say about what happens with the internal memory when OS2 is installed.
