alrite so i just got my mpc1000 today and ive been **** around with it.. i tried looking in other threads for answers to my questions before i needed to ask u guys. so i loaded a sample onto my mpc via usb and pressed mode trim. my problem is there is no slice function and it plays the whole sample. can any one help me with this and can somebody tell me how to turn off the function that causes the samples to overlap instead of playing from the start?

The slice function should be somewhere on your bottom right screen. It's going to be an F tab; (F6, F8, F13).

As far as the sample overlapping is concerned, it's called "Polyphony".

Go to "Program", then "Sample" and scroll down to "Poly" then change it.

I may be wrong, it's either "Poly" or "Mono" that you want it, but regardless, that's the setting you need to be in.

Also - Try reading the Manual, a lot of people completely skip out on the Manual, whether it's because they are so excited to begin playing and learning, or they just are too lazy - But on the real, it will teach you everything you need to know.

when you hit mode - trim you should be able to hit f5 to slice it up. then it will ask how many slices you want to put it to, then hit convert, change to sliced samples. hit do it. All the samples will save. Then load them up in a program and assign them to pads.
hope thats the info you meant.
