Turntable Question

What's Good,

So I just got my 2kxl se1 working with the new CF reader I installed (so happy) and now i'm thinking about my sampling.

Here's my question: I know that the Numark PT-01 is great for digging. If it was even possible to get a high-quality needle on it, would the PT-01 work as well as say a Technics 1200 for sampling?

brand doesnt matter for sampling. your just playing it and recording.

the more expensive ones matter when you get into scratching, mixing and other things that require more out of the table. so get a cheapo one with a nice needle and you will be straight.

yes. but I dont know if its possible to get a high quality needle on it. I want to know the answer too because I have a PT-01 and I'd like it make it my main sampling turn and keep my vestax turn set up for scratching. the only thing I dont like about the numark portable is the amount of weight it puts on the record.

I am uee apost on this subject a while back. There was a guy saying it could be done, but it was a little tricky getting the older needle setup off.. I would search and see what I could find... I am sure it was on this site....

yeah I saw that. I think he said he got the needle off ebay but I cant find anything about a higher quality needle. I dont know if it would be possible to rig a different headshell or cartridge on there somehow.

That is what I am saying; there was a post about replacing the needle setup with something better.
