why is it after I assign the samples manually to the pads i want them to be on, when i switch back to main mode i can't playback the samples???

I can hear the samples only when I push Pad Assign or when I am in Program mode.

Which means I can't sequence any of the samples cuz I can't hear them in the Main mode!

HELP!

I did man, i followed all the instructions until the part when it says "go to the main screen" and it assumes that it should start playing the samples.

But it doesn't,

do you know how to do this?

Weezy I fear that you are missing the point. The samples play back only when a note has been assign to them in the sequence. You use the pads to input a note in the track in the sequence. The sequencer note on and note off plays the sample in the sampler. If you use the edit samples and then the slice samples with the sequencers. The samples will be sliced and all notes will be assigned to a track in the sequence. Without the notes in the sequence the samples won`t play. To make sure press sequence edit or step edit and see if you have any note information? If so see if you have assign the right part to the track in Main Page? Finally check to see if your track isn`t muted or not also. I hope it helps.

MPC is

Sequencer+Sampler+Pads(keyboard) for input note information. :D

this is the long way- go to multi page then hit list and in slot one turn the data wheel to desired program- then goto program assign your sample and then go to main screen and at bottom of screen it says part 1 assign your program to part one.... the ez way is when u first start have the multi created, then build your programs and just add to parts like above and they will be added into the multi list automatically

You should really read the manual, man! Or at least navigate true the menus in the 4k!

Though I must admit, the manual is a pile of **** ! :?
