New MPC Program Editor

for mac users i must recommend MPC PAD 187... a great lil program a lot like what is being developed here, except it's for OS X. it's also freeware, so you can't go wrong with that...

yes, but do not pass up mpcpgm maker too.
its better for renaming/converting batches of samples......and can be used to create mpc progs / 2000xl ones but theyre compatible i think - well it works for me! hehe

if u missed the earlier post - check out rs-16x - a virtual mpc for mac osx

Please make one for MAC... There are a few already out there, but yours has a lot of functions.

Not to question your skills as a programmer, but programmers often forget the everyday user feel. For example, no user should have to click 7 seven different menus to get to a screen that does just one thing.

Providing you bare in mind how the interface is used and how the user flows through it you will have a great program.

The bluebox was good at this with a few hicups you could learn a great deal on what NOT to do when making yours.

Example being when assigning a 'mute group' to pads, i had to click on EVERY pad, making 16 clicks sometimes more. Some quicker method would have been nice.

So far it does look good, does it have batch sample loading? can i drag drop samples on a pad? How come i cant choose each bank on the pad interface rather than just the explore window to the right?

Hopefully i have not upset you with these observations, i should not be doing my 9-5 IT job on this forum, but if your going to do this application i would like for it to be done right, and if done right would i only pay money for it.

The hiccups in the BlueBox interface were things that always made me cringe. And were one of my inspirations for this project.

The interface that I put up is by no means the final version. I really put it up for feedback like this. I wanted the idea to get ironed out a bit before further development.

What would you propose as a fix to the BlueBox mute group issue? Are there any other usability issues that you can see (either with my "proposed" interface or BlueBox)?

Yeah, no probs! off the top of my head that was it really, i would have to beta test it and give you a proper review of it really.

The thing you might want to consider is you cant make everyone happy with these apps, there is always going to be some feature someone is going to cry for, the best way round that is to all the popular or most common features for editing pgms, the first thing we see on the screen.

With regards to the mute groups, is it possible maybe to select via highlighting with the mouse? (never seen a function in .NET like this but i am sure something along them lines are possible)

1. The view window showing the actual samples should have different views, 1 for sample view and the other a sample browser. (sometimes it is just a sample browser)

Maybe a scalable version which allowed the user to customise their view options, that way what i need will always be how it needs to be.

Anyway should you ever require a BETA tester let me know.

Just like what shottz, and mudlogger wrote... I would also like all files playable by clicking them in the browser, and REX to MPC conversion.

Any updates on the program?

Very interested in this, I'd love to see this have some sort of way of interacting with an audio editor too though, I think being able to import/drag n drop/chop mp3/wav and drag the chops to the pads would be perfect hope that's still in your plans. looks great so far, but is it able to be made larger?

Is this app still happening, also support for q-links? mpc 5k user here so would need a few

Also please allow midi to trigger the samples once loaded to the pads to audition sounds via mpc.
If u do the editor,please allow the audio editor to have a scrolling cursor eg: ala sound forge
