Hi, this is my first post!

I'm getting my MPC any day now from the postman.
I want to install the JJ OS obviously, but wondering how to go about it.
As I've never used an MPC yet, should I first go through the manual. learn how the machine works conventionally, then load up the JJ OS?

Second question, which is the best JJ OS? There seem to be so many versions available, the site is really not clear about which is best to go for, could anyone recommend?

Thanks,
M

don't worry about starting with the factory os. just go right into the jj os.

the best jj os is os2, the beta version of the second jj os version. but this doesn't matter, because to get os2 you need os1 as well.

once you get it, just hit MODE and then each of the pads. just look for different functions and start putting everything together. hit WINDOW when it lights up. look at the pictures online.

I'm currently in the same boat, and after reading this thread i'm still a little confused. The JJ site isn't very user friendly.

Can somone please explain it step by step for an idiot like myself. I'm not sure about the password bit, which to install and so on. The only thing i can figure out is how to pay!

thanks in advance.

This link seems to give pretty good installation instructions: http://www7a.biglobe.ne.jp/%7Empc1000/update308.htm

I haven't tried it yet, so I don't know. It truly is an unreadable website. Someone should write some step by step guides and post them as stickies.

it's kinda funny cos this OS is all about making the MPC really user firendly and accessible, and then they have THAT site....?!

Yeah a step by step would be amazing for the newbies, maybe it's in the manual?

best,
m

Investigation is warranted here. The spot might not be that readable, but it clearly states "get OS here" with link. And then look for OS2 link inside. Look for the DL links if that is to hard and just DL EVERYTHING, i'm kidding, but its not hard guys. Do for self!!!!
