I quit posting about this because I got sick of hearing myself whine about this, but now I just need to know where I can bring or send my Mp 1k to get it fixed. Basically it is loading info from at least two projects at one time. I sent Akai an e-mail and the response I got was that you need to save projects in a folder. I have never done this in the past, does this sound correct to anyone? If so, could you walk me through it? Anyways I will certainly try this, but if this were the real problem I can't imagine it would not have come up several times on this forum... So asuming that there is something more serious wrong, where do I take it?

yes, you should always save your files in a folder... especially if they all just have generic names (sample1, etc). you could very easily replace your previously saved samples when saving new ones if you just throw them all onto the card and not in folders. i'm not sure if that's what's causing your problem... but it could be that you saved over some of you samples. i'm sure this option didn't come up as a solution, because it's a logical thing to avoid.

basically, when you're about to save your files... there is a NEW FOLDER button... make a new folder, rename it [either before or after you save there], select it and save the files into that new folder.

now that i'm thinking about it... this could very well have been the cause of your problem. you may just think it's loading from 2 different programs, when in reality you replaced your older files with samples named the same thing. it's possible.

Thanks crossings, I'll be sure to try working with folders. I talked to Bruce at Forat, I figured if he couldn't fix the problem noone could, and he suggested the same thing. He also suggested getting a new CF card as it sounds like my card may be what is corrupted. I have been hoping that this is all that's wrong, so I ordered a few new cards and should get them in a day or two. I'll be sure to post if I get the problem solved...

I would think about getting the hard drive.
