everytime i try to sample something from my Stanton T50X turntable to my mpc 1000 nothing happens.... the peak levels don't even rise... it will say keep sample and all that but i dont hear any sounds of anything i just tried to record... is it because i didn't hook something up right or something isn't turned on thats needs to be... i need help!

yea you didnt hook up a mixer/phono preamp to boost the signal. It sounds like your trying to hook up the TT directly to the MPC. This is why people continuously scream out to RTFM.

no i hooked my TT directly to my mixer... my mpc to my mixer... and my mixer to my speakers...... they all will play at the same time but when i try to record the sample i dont hear anything after im done.... my mpc is on line and my TT is on Phono... if that helps any

my record in is connected to line 1 of the mixer and stereo out is connected to phono 1

so the master on the mixer to the mpc record in and then my mpc to my radio speakers? am i correct

Most Mixers have dual outputs... One is main out and the other should/could be Rec Out.... But there should def be 2 outs on the mixer.....

One out is connected to the speaker source
And the Other to the Rec in on the MPC... One big happy circle...


BUt the manual will have directions and pics I believe,,,,,, Save yourself from the flaming you will cont to receive for questions like these....

i use a pioneer djm 400, each channel has two inputs switchable, really useful. i can have my mpc hooked up for playback and sampling and just switch over to use the cd deck.
