Protools and the mpc 4000

How can I sync those two together perfectly. I use to use logic to sync with the mpc when dumping and it worked perfect. I just purchased a digi 002 rack and that doesnt work well with anything other than protools. help me out peoples

MIDI Beat Clock. Set PTLE as a master (Pro Tools cant slave) and the MPC as slave.

MPC: MIDI beat clock, MIDI in 1 or 2
PTLE: MIDI beat clock, MIDI out (enable it)

The way he desribed it the Mpc is the slave. Make sure that you set your OMS settings correct. You'll see settings for the Mpc 3000,but it'll work with the 4000. I lock my 4000 to my Digi001.

Use Midi Time Code if in Song Mode

Why? I record everything while in MIDI Beat Clock! Song and pattern mode.. I think MIDI Beat Clock is much tighter.

So if you want to punch-in in Pro Tools at lets say measure 45, beat clock will know to start the sequence at measure 45?

Yo peeps, I only use MTC to sync da MPC4K as slave. I feel the sequencer runs betta than with midi clock, plus I don't need to set the tempo on my DAW (I got da AKAI DPS24).
Oh yeah, and I set da 4K to send MMC to the deeps, like dat, I can control it from da 4K too.

Yes

you can run MTC thru the same midi wire correct? just making sure I got it correctly, not at the house atm

but ya I was hoping to be able to put PT in slave mode

Nope.. PT wont slave. Its a shame..

PT will slave. I do it all the time.

In MTC you can.. In Beat clock, Pro Toosl wont slave
