skiggy this is the important part to your original questions:

-say there is a bass sound you like in a combi, however you dont want to take up space in "multi mode" so.........you find out what layers are used for the bass track, then copy from combi, into multi mode (like above). Go into main menu-"track parameters" look at the midi channels tab for tracks 1-8, notice that they are all 1, 1, 1, 1, and maybe like 6 (for the drums) well you can switch the instruments that are not part of the bass patch, to the original midi channel (i.e. track 5 corresponds with midi channel 5) so that you can now use that track for whatever instrument you want!!!!!!! and it will then work like a normal track, thus eliminating the "8 slots" for combi rules. you may have to adjust the effects accordingly.

just tryin to be specific, btw if you have any more questions, just as-i know alot about the triton, but sometimes its difficult to explain.

Check out this website, everybody there is cool, sometimes you have to search for your question, but overall its a good triton forum. And they have tons of downloads for new sounds and samples. I think they even offer a triton video tutorial depending on your skill level.
