efficient studio?

i see alot of cats using pro tools and i just wondered, is there any possible way of going all analog without going broke? or does analog equipment cost more than software? what (besides mpc, turntable and mixer...) do i need?

Analog is cheaper a good 24-48 channel Tascam analog mixer will be under $1000 easy.

is the mixer the device that will get the material (i.e. instrumental track) onto a cd?
