bug - problem

hello

i've a problem, i've mounted an hd on my mpc 2500, all works great but when i make a new folder the mpc crashes.. completely blocked, i can't do anything.

just shut down and restart, as windows....

the folder is created but the mpc crashes..

why?

i've mounted a hitachi travelster 5k160 and i've formatted it internally with the mpc.

ok sorry for the thread, i've formatted it another time and now it works

i've formatted.
try to make a folder and works.
than i've put the data on (100mb) and i've make a folder and works.
than i've load samples, make a kit, i'm going to make a new folder for drum kits and first system error, than i've tried another time and now is crashed

i cant do anything. the screen is the new name for folder screen and i can't do anything.

i don't understand.

with compact flash works ok

now don't works even if i turn on the mpc and create directly a new folder.

i've tried to install jj os 3.08 and works .. i can make directory

if works this is the excuse to pass to jj

But I get the same issue to. The work around is to create empty folders on PC then move to the area of the MPC HD before starting any work. It is a pain which i wish Akai would address (Waiting for JJos2 to be released before I make the jump)

well i'm passed to jj 3.08 free and works great..
nothing changes to me.. just some menu a bit different

but we are human no machine so we can adapt to this jj

Do yourself a favor and find $30.
The differnce between the free JJ and the $30 version makes it a waste to even learn the free.

i've payed those 30$ as you say.. and after playing with it a bit.. i've already found a bug............. i'm not so happy to have listened you.

my previews kit don't works.. it don't load them

says file not found...

not happy at all..

can JJ refund me? i put the previews system 3.08 free..

i haven't receive the pass yet for jj 5.47.. but the payment is gone

you won't want a refund.

the preview kits say "file not found" because they've been corrupted by the New Folder Freeze. "wrong file" messages accompany the new folder bug as well as the directory error bug. you can thank akai for all of that, as well as the current corrupted preview kits you have, not jj's os.

back up your material, format your drive/cf card, and use the jj os.

are you sure about that? tomorrow i try.. but with 3.08 don't happen..

i can't play with some kits......

JJ explained on his web site about reformatting to get rid of the old Akai trails, but I guess b*tching here made more sense than just looking at his site where it says important.

i've seen the site but i says about errors and not "file not found" error.. so i've thought that isn't in the list. tomorrow i try.. i've already received the password

but the display is a bit strange, i don't like the font character.. too japan.. (don't let me explain why D)

and another thing i'm thinking just now, not depending the os, is that i really hate the lcd color.. green is TERRIBLE. like old 8086 pc.... the 2000xl is white and black right? i really prefer that lcd..

and the mpc5000 is even uglier than 2500.. well 2500 is really beautiful to me except for green lcd...
