mpc master to rack synth auditing

Hi

I have my mpc1000 midi going out to my novation nova synth. The audio out of the synth is going into my record in on the mpc.

I can only hear the notes when i'm in Record mode. Also, I can't record a mid sequence in Record mode. This seems really impractical, how am i supposed to make a melody if i can't hear the auido, and when i can hear the audio via the pads, I can't record it?! javascript:emoticon(':?')

3. switch input thru: ON
