MUTEC ADO 8-outs question

I just got in my mail my new addition: a MUTEC ADO 8-outs board. However, the bastard came without a cable so I must get my hands on one. Any suggestions where I can find one? Also, do you know if it shares the same cable with the IB board from AKAI?

I guess it must be some king of a scsi cable or am I wrong? If anyone knows the exact specs needed for such a cable, please share!

I think the Mutec and the official Akai boards are essentially the same. The cable you need is a standard floppy cable, I used the one for the internal floppy as I exchanged that for a ZIP drive.

The bigger problem would be the mounting plate, if you didn't get the one for the MPC with it.

For reference, here's how it's supposed to look like. You have to take care of the right direction of the cable.

No. I am afraid I got the one with the MUTEC plate on it. So I probably have to figure out how to mount it. Anyway, thanx for the input!

Yea...there's one that fits in the MPC, and one for the S2000 I believe. As you can see, I had to DIY something myself

I'm having that s-series board sent to me with the right mpc cable monday. I'll have to figure out how to adapt the mounting plate of the s-series to the mpc...

Don't try to...it won't fit without heavy metalwork.

What I did is tinker something from a piece of metal and some spare screws and spacers which came with it, to prevent it from wobbling around inside the case and also have some grounding, just in case. Oh, and I happened to have some nuts for the screws on the 1/4" jacks, which help as well.

You made my day man! However, it was kind of a mess... I had to take out the floppy cable from me defect s3200, use a metal plate for my spare parts PC M/B and hook it up. Well, all outs are working fine except one thing: I can't get the S/PDIF Out to work. The weird thing is that the S/PDIF In is working fine. Any suggestions? Maybe it's dead?

American Musical Supply has the official Akai one in stock if anyone needs one.

Yeah, I used a couple of those screws also. They stabilized the board very well.

Thanks for the heads up, but I'm still gonna (try atleast)...

I have it so cheap and if it doesn't work (or I don't feel like it) I can still sell it...

I'm not saying that the board doesn't work. It's just the mounting plate that doesn't fit!
