I've got JJ 5.33. It's nice))
Just try it right after you'll have got to know akai os. And you'll get the difference) It's a matter of habit!

i wouldnt say more problems, just more advanced users using the JJOS allowing the bugs to be found. the akai os is DEFINATELY missing a lot of features and doesn't work as well in certain places. i was using my mpc with the regular akai os for over a year (before the JJOS for 2500 was developed). as soon as the JJOS for 2500 was released, i decided to try it since there was nothing to lose (it is easy to revert to the akai os without losing anything). and couldnt see myself moving back to the akai os shortly after. i have been using the JJOS with my 2500 since it was released, and i can say that i have yet to run into any serious bugs. mind you i am far from the most advanced mpc user because i move back and forth between using the mpc, reason, and using the mpc and reason together.

i've switched and after 5 mins i've found a bug.. the pass wasn't arrived jet and a bug is arrived first.

i'm lucky.

now are 3 days that i'm not using my mpc.

the bug is reported on 2500 forum in the thread bug - problem

simply some kits can't be loaded.

it say "file not found" and i've already formatted with jj as all says.

with 3.08 no prob, but i'm a bit disappointed to have spent 30$

as i've explained this, this is due to the directory errors, new folder bug, etc
when those bugs occurred. they also result in corrupt/missing data from existing files.

no more DIRECTORY ERROR/new folder freezes = no more future corruption, but it doesn't mean it will repair what was already messed up from the akai os save bug.

also, at very least you could just rebuild the program from scratch, couldn't you?

By mattian Fri Jan 25, 2008 9:54 pm
yes but i want understand why.

and i want understand why if i reinstall the 3.08 the kits work properly.

this is what, seems, can't explain also the jj inventor. i'm waiting for his reply

if the kit loads properly in 3.x it's not corrupted. however this is a fairly integral problem that would have been experienced/reported by multiple users.

try loading each file separately, don't load program with samples

or at last resort just rebuild the damn program, you know? it wouldn't take that long and you'll probably end up with something better

i try, but i mean i want to know why because if i start listening tons of samples and deleting them and creating kits, then after some gb i say.. wow great!! now let's have a look to these kits!! and then ... "file not found"... well i think i can smash the mpc on the floor

^^^ just take Nym's advice.
also, if you ask JJ questions that don't need to be asked, you're just holding up the development of any future releases.

------------------------------------------
Bug Fix : OS1 Ver5.48 26-JAN-2008
------------------------------------------
1. [LOAD]

Load a xxxxxx.PGM file.(with sample)

Although a WAV file exists, the error of "File not found" is displayed.

JJ may introduce a few bugs as he's going along, but 99% get fixed quickly, which is more than you can say for the Akai OS, which hasn't had an update in years and still has bugs in it.

yes is my error..

but isn't totally solved.

in akai os and jj 3.08 i can save program in a different folder than samples

example i put all kicks in the kick folder, all snare etc, and if i save a program without "saving samples in the same folder" i cant load it, it says "file not found" but in akai and jj3 i can do that

What bugs are still left in the Akai OS whose last "official" OS update was last year (versus years).

I was ready to write about how JJ has given up on fixing the bugs in the OS1 but then I noticed that there was a new bug fix update released today. However, it still doesn't fix the metronome bug which has existed for some time now.
