Auto BPM/Beat Matching with audio source possible?

Hi everyone,

I am about to get a MPC500 and was wondering if the unit has the ability to auto-beat match/sync it's bpm to external audio sources (not midi).

My primary purpose with the MPC is to use it with a live DJ environment including Pioneer CDJ turntables.

I am trying to work out if I would need something like a Red Sound Soundbite Micro in order to provide the audio/MIDI synchronisation?(http://www.redsound.com/products/soundbitemicro)

well you can stretch samples, if you know what bpm your records are?

I'm assuming I can adjust the bpm manually, but I know some loop samplers can automatically find the correct bpm for a track based on an audio input signal.

Not a biggie as I can do it manually but was just curious if it could do it...

there's a tap tempo button to find the BPM, and you can use it while monitoring incoming sound into the 500.
