Well, I've owned the mpc 1000 and s20 for some time now, the s20..just sits getting really dusty, but I recently had the chance to buy the s950..and i think i'm going to because I once watched a video of Liam Howlett ( the Prodigy ) playing live, and i saw it sitting there with a handful of floppy's next to it.
i'm questioning general logic here, but..he was playing a keyboard..and it made me think that it was sending midi notes to the s950..let me grab the link
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xPlSoQ8smUs
notice how when he hits a different key its seems to play..either a sample..or a sequence..i can't really tell, but this has me confused. i'm really lost in how to perform my mpc sets live, and i would love to incorporate a midi keyboard in my live set, is there anyway I can emulate this with the mpc1000, or..is this like s950 feature only. i'm mainly asking because i don't have a midi to midi cable only midi to usb's. and i haven't had the chance to try it
thanks-
