My computer won't read my MPC 1000

I use a Powerbook G4, currently going through the tutorial that I bought through this website. All of sudden, I go to load a project file from my desktop onto the MPC.....I plug in the USB connect as i've done many times, and the MPC icon is not appearing on my desktop.

I opened up System Profiler, it tells that indeed, the MPC 1000 is connected, but I can not get it to appear on my desktop, therefore I cannot drag and drop files and cannot complete this tutorial! can anyone help me?

Make sure the card is in there correctly... And also don't you have to "Mount" it for the Macs to see it?

okay, the card was not in all the way. thanks for your help guys! it's working fine now.


and, i don't know about "mounting"....as soon as I plug the mpc in via USB, and then go to Load > USB on the mpc, the mpc icon appears on my desktop.

I'm having this problem right now. I'm not using a cf card though. I have an internal hard drive. my mac says that it is connected in the system profiler. how do I mount the hard drive to put files on it?
