So say you chop a loop right? And you got it layed across the pads. How do you make it so that the pads cancel each other out?
So if I'm playing the pads live and I hit a pad it will cut which ever other track is playing and so on?

I know you can do this with mono with the same pad but how do you mono seperate notes so that the cancel each other out?
Peace

under program--->params, highlight poly, mono or note off---->press open window. Then assign the pad you want to NOTE OFF.

Its in the manual dude, read up!!!

Good lookin out g, is there a way to param them all to cancel each other all out or do you have to set them one note at a time?

Or chop your samples so that nothing remains when your ready to hit the next pad. In zone edit mode it will usually get you into some pretty small peices. Usually in an 1/8 note pattern.

So u can can't cancel a pad with 4 other pads, or more?

i mean, when you would want to cancel out another pad you technically dont have to because the sample is done playing because thats the way you chopped it up. Where you at in the bay? If need be ill show you whats up.

Ah I get what you're saying, but that doesn't always work because sometimes you want to cut it off at 1/2 and sometimes 1/4 and even 3/4 so that would take a long time to chop all those in the exact sizes...

I'm in the East Bay close to Oakland/Berkeley

check ya pms

non destructive chopping, get ya loop, set it To - Vel>SampleStart, and roll the Velocity>volume right down. then in your step editor change the velocity values and it will shift the start point of the sample. so you can triggering it from different points according to the velocity. You should also be able to use the 16 levels to place different parts of the loop across the 16 pads, without even chopping it into sep waveforms.

Oh ok I get what he is saying, but how would you go about setting the start points for the velocity triggering

thats why I was asking him to clarify.... Is that even possible with a 2KXL

By nanoloop Tue Jan 29, 2008 11:37 pm
yeh its only possible on the 2kxl, i think. click " open window on the "env "in the params page. the params u need to adjust are in there. once u get it right and u tap the loop at different velocity, it should be triggering at different spots, the reason i say turn the pad velocity down is so it doesnt change the volume as u hit different velocity.

go into 16 levels on the culprit and do it up...
