I got an MPC60ii delivered from japan last week and i love it.. but i was just wondering how quickly they heat up.

Mine seems to get really hot within about 10mins of being switched on. Just where the vent is near the power input. These guys sent me a powerpack so that it would work in australia but i'm wondering if it is working properly. I don't know anything about volts or resistance so i just took their word. Is this normal??

Also, last night i had it synced up as the slave to my 2000 and it kept dropping out of time and then clicking back in.. could this be to do with overheating?

Apart from all that... i'm loving it!

Yeah, but I'm not sure I'd use the term "really hot." My 60 just gets a little warm by the vent. If it's hot enough that you're worrying about the plastic melting, I would say you have a problem.
As to your other question, I have no experience running my 60 as a slave, but it sounds like there's something wrong with your midi set-up. I can't think of a reason why heat would affect this.

is it the 50hz or 60hz japanese version?

Thanks for the replies everyone.

It doesn't burn my hand  but compared to my 2000 it seems unusually hot.
