Monitor Speakers.

What kind of speakers do you recommend, and where can I get them?

There's all kinds out on the market. What chu look'n to spend?

Is there anything less than a 100 dollars?

Honestly for $100 you are gonna be stuck buying an cheap set off of Ebay.... Here is what you do. go to your local pawn shop and buy something really cheap (Or the Ebay ones) this is only if you do not have a basic sound setup right now. Get something inexpensive and start saving for a decent set of Monitors..... When it comes to sound creation you want to make sure you have quality equipment.



Save ya money and get the right thing the first time, or at least get as close as possible without over extending yourself.


I am currently using the speaker system I got for my CPU..... It is not bad, but it is not desigend for what I am using it for, therefore some of the sounds are not true.....


You could also take that $100 bucks and invest in a good set of headphones. I use mine more than a little bit. At this point I would be more inclined to spend the money that way.....


But for the hell of it, here is a link to some inexpensive versions you may want to review..... Read the reviews and do some research.... You may get lucky and find a set at a great price and have wonderful quality.....

As stated above, alot of this depends on what you expect from them.... That price range is very limiting..... I would not spend less than $300 on a set if I had to have some, because that price range for the pair is where you start to get into decent quality stuff....... But there are some inexpensiv ones to get.....
BUt in most cases you get what you pay for.........

I cannot remember if there is a Sam Ash in Vegas..... But if there is, you may want to go see if they have any Monitors on clearance, you find some for a good price that will get the job done to your liking.....

I Use Numark HF 125's and they have been fine for me to date.. They were very inexpensive on Ebay... I am only a month and a half into this, and the info I have provided is info I have gathered since I jumped into Production.

i don't see much point in buying sumthin inexpensive then gettin the good ones later on, that ultimately means you end up spending more cash.

why not just save the cash you wer using to buy inexpensive ones, keep saving and buy a good pair. i'm doing that and i near have enough to buy me a pair of yamaha hs80m's.

in the mean time, buy some jack to phono cables and try and run it through a home stereo, computer speakers or just use headphones.

My recommendation of cheaper stuff was if an only if he had no other way of producing sound........ OP is gonna have to spend some doe no matter what.......

When your dealing with audio cheap isnt good and good isnt cheap. Buy a dope pair of monitors once and move on to the next piece of gear. OR you can buy some $100 speakers, get more gear, realize your speakers suck, cop NEW speakers again, then sell those for $40 on ebay and throw away $60 that could have went to records, wiring...etc...

But i would rather buy cheap speakers than do everything on headphones, they just sound so much different then speakers and tire your ears much faster.
Ive been doing stuff at a friends home some weeks ago, he got the JBL control one and the mixes did sound surprisingly well on bigger systems.
