slider #1 on my 2500 is acting crazy...it won't highlight start points in trim mode...and forget about using it for real time manipulation. when i try to highlight in trim mode it blinks on and off the waveform, and basically doesn't stay on the sample. it's very strange because i've taken extremely good care of the machine since day one. i figure it's a short or maybe it needs to be replaced. does anyone have any suggestions? It's driving me insane!!!!

migth just be **** ma man , tho mpc spares had the whole qlink board for about $40 i think -
awaiting a quote for a replacement master volume encoder - tho even that board was $69 which is still pretty good

thanks, man...so you think replacing the entire slider might be the move...that's what i was thinking. it's weird, though, cause i was never hard on the thing...just started f___ing up on me. are the spares actual akai parts? let me know...thanks

Hey dudes I had the same issue when I bought my MPC-2500 thru e-bay I had to solder a new slider luckily I do small synth repairs and in less than 20min I was able to fix it I had the same issue you were having..easy repair if you are out of warranty! the solder/parts manufactured for akai ar so cheap it is very easy to break a solder joint...damn akai get better parts!!!! good luck!

i duno about if they are actual akia parts il ask once i get my next reply eh lol.
but as the dude says , parts are that cheap( that price was for teh entire qlink board , entire circuitry for that side)- id be happier knowin they were otherwise made( maybe get a bit better life)
you could having a look see , always worth a shot - and as i said that price i was offered for the otherside curcuitries great, just im only after a new master volume rotary encoder ( or so i hope)
new soldering irons top on ma shopping list ,
let me know how repair goes.

Maybe I would just try cleaning it before unsoldering the whole damn thing...
