I got a set of M-Audio studio pro 3's in a Craigslist trade. I think even after getting a set of some really nice monitors I am going to keep these.
They are super small and have grills over the speakers, this makes them perfect for traveling. They have incredibly good stereo imaging. And they sound awesome in the high-end. the low end is terrible though. I use a powered subwoofer in conjunction with them and they work great.
They have their place for sure, and are 10x better than computer speakers. For $100 I would buy a set of these instead of computer speakers any day.
