MPC 2000 "back cursor"

I have the MPC 2000 and sometimes when I first cut the mpc on the back cursor button it works then after awhile it stops working. Sometimes it barely works when its first cut on. Other times it works and has no problem. (note. the up button, down button, and foward button cursor work fine.) Is something dying out inside my mpc 2000 where the back cursor button is? How do I fix this? Why is it doing this?

I have a similar situation with my F1 button, sometimes it works ok but sometimes I have to press it a bit harder to get into the option. It's annoying, I know. Just try to take the top cover off and have a look at it. I'm reffering to 2kxl model, but I'm sure that they look pretty much the same there. All these buttons look simple (not sure if they really are you know : ) ), but anyway, if it's broken, you can easily get replacement from http://www.vstservice.com for example.

yea..I get what you mean. I took the cover off before and when I move it around or blow around it thinking maybe dust or something is there sometimes it works better. Sometimes I have to press it harder though like you said. I will check it again though. You think its the button though? Or a shorting fuse?

Hmm...I'm not into electronics, so need to ask - what would a shorting fuse be ? I know what a fuse is, but does it connect somehow with the button itself?
I had the same situation like you, when I took the cover off the button worked, every time when I pressed it. In my case I think it's the metal cover that causes it (blocking a little), cause I can see that F1 button is a bit lower then F6. They kinda go in a line from the lowest to the highest. I can see the difference.

the tact switch is going out. you can try cleaning is with a can of compressed air. but more than likely you will need to remove the old one and solder in a new one.
