customize tempo

I was told JJ OS was good for this, I was thinking is their anyway to do this in the mpc 2000 xl. I am sick of hearing these same patterens everytime b4 I start a beat. even though I know the beat is in your head. But I am just getting sick of the same clicking noise can I creat(customize)my own in how would I do this?
Maybe Iam explaining it wrong

read the manual. You can change from the 'click' metronome to one of 4 sampled sounds "drum 1-4"
