well, i have my the audio outputs of my soundcard connected to my mixer then my mixer has speakers connected to it. i run my mpc, and computer souncard into my mixer, and from the mixer back into my soundcard to i can record my shyt.

what do you want to set up? give clear instructions and i will try and help

i was thinking that the reason why i wasnt hearing sounds from Reason was because my speakers were connected to my mpc and not the sound card. im using powered monitors.. i hope that narrows it down a bit.

does the 4.9os1 make any difference in terms of midi connections. like, if i were to upgrade from v3.08 to 4.91 os1, would it solve my problems because of upgrade?

your goin to need a mixer to run your mpc and your reason sounds into, you won't hear the reason sounds if your monitors are connected to the mpc, midi is not audio data.

it shouldn't matter what os you are running, but i would go with the latest jj as it is very stable.

That's your problem, when using reason the audio is coming from your computers sound card, unless you have your soundcard running out to your mpc. You don't really need a mixer just to hear it , but it helps for eq'ing later when you record from different sources, like if some sounds are in reason, and others are in your mpc.
