Things to do in Chicago...and Indianapolis

I'm gonna be landing in chicago in exactly a month... First time in the states since I was 12, 16 years ago!

I'm planning on doing some major record shopping, old school house mainly so I'm gonna check out Hot Jams and Gramaphone...anyone have any other suggestions of places?

Not just record shops but anything worth checking out?

Any second hand music gear shops, markets stuff like that?

I want to go to a good house night while I'm there as well, any advice on where to check out.

I'm going to be in Indianapolis for a while as well so if anyones from there I'd be interested to hear about it

i havent any suggestions on where in chi to go but a good house night is a given anyday of the week..

i dont know if this store is there or not but i buy from JUNO records sometimes, try to see if they got a store they have some sick classic's there, ACID HOUSE,
another thing try to hit up some thrifts you MAY get lucky MAY get lucky and find a TB303 for cheap . what are the chances of that...you never know till you try it.

The best dollar bin I've seen anywhere, and I dig like a crackhead man. I just dont get why there are so many damn good records in their dollar bin...BUT I AINT COMPLAININ!

there are mad thrift stores in the chi. im not going to give EVERY one away, but there's a chain of them called Village Thrift. They are everywhere, and 9/10 times you finna find something. google village thrift chicago and you should get a bunch of spots.

in the 100s there is...
Mr. Peabody. That is damn near HOUSE CENTRAL in the chi. They have like everything...and im not exaggerating. Mad 12"s, rare joints that you didnt think existed, and other things of that sort. They just had a big ass sale (that I missed...FUKK!!) so it'll be a whole lot easier to dig comfortably--before there were records like up to the ceiling.

see any dubls of some classic's pick them up i'll get few off you

Most definitely hit up Gramaphone. They got mad shit over there. Also most of the cats that work in there are house DJ's and producers, they can def. hook you up with good house nights around town.

Also about 1 mile to the south is a place called Dave's records. They got some nice records as well, from hip to house and mad sample, crate diggin goodies!
