been very busy lately, between school, work, and music. after a bad sickness, a difficult recovery and a bunch of idiotic forum drama, i've decided to largely remove myself from the mpc forums. however, i don't so much consider this an end to my presence here, but rather "phase two" of my operations.
phase two basically means this: spend more time on the mpc, less time answering questions and making small talk. i'll spend more time testing, and posts i do make on the forum will be like this one - w/ youtube links and/or messages from jj.
for starters, here are two lofi youtube videos i created. the first is regarding chopping on jj os, and the 2nd is about simult pads and drum programs, with a brief introduction to adsr use in drum programs. they were shot using a document camera (called an ELMO) connected to a LCD projector which projected onto a wall. i positioned a camera so that it captured this projection on the wall. i then edited in final cut, which i'm not very good at (and i find the program to be miserable, unintuitive and silly). i'll probably be using vegas in the future.

in my next video i hope to get a little more hifi. i'll run the document camera output directly into a DV box which will be captured by vegas on my laptop, and i'll edit it there. i'll have more text. maybe i'll have multiple shots, one of a closeup on the screen (document cam) and the other more of a broad shot of me actually using the mpc--more personable.
i'm going to be doing more videos tomorrow and will probably upload them by 8 o clock or so. i'm pretty sure that i'll be testing pad pattern in an early version of jj os 0.90 in the next couple of days. if i get a copy tonight, one of the videos i do tomorrow will definitely be an intro to Pad Pattern.
next three videos:
part i: a use of multisampled INST programs:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IMWT1blUZjY
part ii: building multisampled INST programs:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7BmGLZG4L04
video iii: creating fake tails using altloop + adsr
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mooWfR21hPI
what else would you like to see?
os2 specific, please, but remember that most features cross over so 90% of the os2 vids will be applicable.
i'll check back here tomorrow
